Terms

These terms set the rules for using Deft.

Last updated June 14, 2026

01

Agreement to these terms

These Terms govern your access to Deft's website, writing console, model-backed generation features, account features, and related services. By creating an account, signing in, or using Deft, you agree to these Terms.

If you use Deft on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

02

Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account unless the activity results from Deft's own failure to use reasonable security measures.

Deft is not directed to children under 13. Do not use Deft if you are not old enough to agree to these Terms in your jurisdiction.

03

Paid API credits, subscriptions, and auto-recharge

API credits purchased through Deft, including one-time top-ups and auto-recharge, apply to paid server-to-server generation API usage unless Deft says otherwise. Deft subscriptions provide a separate monthly website-generation allowance unless Deft says otherwise.

Auto-recharge is off by default. If you enable it, Deft may charge your saved payment method and add the selected API credits when your available API credits are at or below your threshold. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled or otherwise ended. You can turn off auto-recharge from your account page.

Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. Credit balances, prices, and access terms may change as the product develops.

04

Your content and generated drafts

You retain your rights in prompts, drafts, edits, uploaded or pasted material, and generated output that you create with Deft. You grant Deft a limited license to host, process, transmit, display, and store that material as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

You are responsible for the material you submit and for reviewing generated drafts before relying on or publishing them. Generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your intended use.

05

Acceptable use

Use Deft only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm the service, other users, or third parties.

  • Do not submit material you do not have the right to use.
  • Do not use Deft to violate intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
  • Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, disrupt, or bypass security or usage limits.
  • Do not submit malicious code, credentials, payment card data, or highly sensitive personal information unless Deft explicitly asks for it.
  • Do not use generated drafts as professional, legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical advice.
06

Deft technology and ownership

Deft and its licensors own the website, software, models, workflows, design, brand, and other service technology. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Deft technology to you.

You may use Deft only through the interfaces we provide and only as allowed by these Terms.

07

Third-party services

Deft relies on third-party services for hosting, authentication, model inference, model assistance, scheduling, and other operational needs. Your use of features that depend on those services may also be affected by their availability and terms.

The Privacy Policy explains the categories of service providers that may process information for Deft.

08

Service changes and availability

Deft may change as the product develops. We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue parts of the service at any time, including free usage limits, model behavior, account features, and developer-only tools.

We try to keep Deft useful and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free output, or permanent storage of any content.

09

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Deft is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deft will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Deft's total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Deft for the service in the three months before the claim or $100.

10

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for Deft or others, or used the service unlawfully. You may stop using Deft at any time.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, and acceptable-use obligations, will survive.

11

Updates and contact

We may update these Terms as Deft develops. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice through the service or another appropriate channel. Your continued use of Deft after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept the update.

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the same Deft contact or booking channel you used to reach us.
